There are faster ways to travel.

You can fly over a town, stop for the postcard, check the box, and move on.

I'd rather take the road that still has an old motel with a flickering sign, a diner where the coffee never really stops pouring, or a stretch of coastline after everyone else has gone home. Those places rarely make the guidebooks, but they're usually the ones worth remembering.

Based in Arizona, I photograph the American West and the California coast using both digital and 35mm film. I'm less interested in landmarks than I am in the feeling of a place. The light. The quiet. The evidence that people were here long before I arrived.

This website is an ongoing collection of those moments. Some become prints. Some become books. All of them begin with simply slowing down long enough to notice.
